26 years + 3 million students = Programme Erasmus

Figures released today reveal that more than 3 million students have benefitted from EU Erasmus grants since the exchange scheme’s launch in 1987. The statistics, covering the 2011-2012 academic year, also show that the programme enabled more than 250 000 Erasmus students – a new record – to spend part of their higher education studies abroad or to take up a job placement with a foreign company to boost their employability. More than 46 500 academic and administrative staff also received support from Erasmus to teach or train abroad, an experience designed to improve the quality of teaching and learning in the 33 countries which participate in the scheme (EU Member States, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland and Turkey).

Yes, you are reading it right. It is possible to cycle with further aim than to get to from the place A to the place B. Team of Ride for your rights is cycling from 15th of July until 6th of September from Vienna to Ankara also for your rights.

Slovak exhibition in the Berlaymont building of the European Commission

On the occasion of 20th anniversary of Slovak Republic an exhibition “Slovakia – Past and Future through the eyes of Slovak students” was held under the auspices of Slovak Prime Minister R. Fico, President of the Prešov region P. Chudík and Vice-President of European Commission M. Šefčovič. Directly in the European Commission’s Berlaymont headquarters in Brussels. 

Slovak project for detection of plagiarism in university papers and thesis was awarded the European award!

Today 6 June 2013 European Comission announced the results of the European award competition for inovation in public administration.  Slovakia scored with a project ANTIPLAG created by a Centre for Scientific and Technical information for Slovak Republic with a system detecting plagiarism in university student’s papers and thesis.

Quiz about European parliament won UCM

Information Office of European Parliament in Slovakia organized quiz for University students because of celebrating Day of Europe. There were teams from 4 Universities: Comenius University, University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius, University of Constantine the Philosopher and University of Central Europe in Skalica.

Maros Korman, new member of ESU executive committee

European Students Union is a representative body of approximately 11 million european students, who are associated in ESU via their national unions. Main purpose of ESU is integration, training, informing student representatives and their coordination in european academic policy. The mission of the union is to protect and uphold democratic, political and social rights of students.

European Dialogue of Perspective Attitude proseeds to Aachen

Charlemagne Youth Prize is awarded for projects that support European understanding, development of European identity and integration. The projects were submitted before 18 February 2013. This year we – European Dialogue of Perspective Attitude participated in this competition as on of the thirteen Slovak projects. The winners of all 27 EU member states will meet in the European round on 24 April 2013 in Aachen, Germany.
